About Odd Bird
CRAFT BAKERY
After getting her Associate's Degree in 2007 in Culinary Arts, Rachel worked for nearly two decades in various small bakeries. Odd Bird Baking was born right around the time as Rachel's two sons, in Longmont, CO. After moving to Durango in 2019, Rachel started delivering "Pajama Boxes" to folks around Durango on Saturday mornings and people loved receiving their freshly baked pastries at their doorstep. Since then, Odd Bird has grown and is now truly a family business! We focus on originality and hope to bring some fresh ideas to old favorites. Our scratch-made pastries feature unbleached locally milled flour from Cortez Milling, produce and other ingredients from local farms and businesses whenever possible, organic rye and whole wheat flour from Mountain Mama in Monte Vista, ethically sourced vanilla extract and never any seed oils or artificial colors. We are proud vendors in the Durango Farmers Market and we are always looking to connect and collaborate with local small businesses! We specialize in wedding cakes, birthday cakes, pies, cookies, pastries, brownies, and all manner of unforgettable treats.

We update our offerings frequently to call forth the best parts of each season - fresh, bright fruit in the summer; warm, comforting spices in the winter. We hope you'll love what we have to share!

I purchased your Brown Butter/Rye chocolate chip cookies yesterday from Mesa Verde Hotel en route to Durango from Rico. Oh my goodness! What a delight! I was running errands in town and had to carry the 2nd cookie with me everywhere for fear of the chocolate melting in the car. I’m hooked! Thank you for sharing your gift.
